A man has been taken to hospital following a serious road crash involving a van and a lorry on the A824 at Aberuthven in Perth and Kinross, with emergency services attending the scene on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The collision was reported at around 2:35 p.m. on the A824 between Mennieburn Road and Mossend Place. Police and other emergency services were called to the scene, while the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched four appliances to deal with the incident and make the area safe.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said a rapid response unit and an ambulance were sent to the crash. One male casualty, understood to be in his 30s, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment. The extent of his injuries has not been publicly confirmed.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area while emergency crews worked at the scene. The collision caused disruption on the A824, a key route connecting the Auchterarder and Aberuthven areas.
The latest crash comes only days after a separate fatal collision on the same A824 between Auchterarder and Aberuthven. On August 28, a 41-year-old man died after his Land Rover Freelander crashed near Damside. Police Scotland said the road remained closed until about 11:30 p.m. while officers investigated.
Police have not yet released details about what caused Tuesday’s van-and-lorry collision, and no information has been provided indicating that anyone involved has been arrested. Investigators are expected to establish the circumstances of the crash as inquiries continue.
