Favier died on August 17, 2026, in the Deux-Sèvres region, alongside her husband and film producer Nicolas Altmayer, 61. Her death has prompted an outpouring of grief across France’s fashion and entertainment communities. According to reports, the couple were involved in a serious road collision near Airvault. Their vehicle collided with a truck while overtaking another car, and both Favier and Altmayer died in the crash. French authorities opened an investigation into the circumstances of the collision, including possible involuntary manslaughter.

Favier was one of the most recognizable figures behind Dior’s public image. She joined Dior in 2011 and became closely associated with the fashion house’s relationships with celebrities, models and other prominent personalities. Over the years, she worked with major Dior ambassadors including Natalie Portman, Rihanna and Jennifer Lawrence, earning a reputation for her warmth, elegance and ability to bring people together.

Beyond her professional career, Favier was known for her deep connection to Paris and its culture. She published Mathilde à Paris in 2024, sharing her affection for the city’s fashion, art, gastronomy and creative community. Her family described a woman whose personality extended well beyond her prestigious professional position.

Favier is survived by her children, Héloïse and Carlo Agostinelli, along with her mother, siblings and extended family. A death notice published in Le Figaro confirmed that she died accidentally on August 17 at the age of 57.
