Bailey Meyers Obituary, Hackensack, Minnesota: Paducah Man Dies at 46 as Family and Friends Mourn His Loss

The Paducah community is mourning the death of Kent Bohanon, 46, who passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026. His death has left his wife, children, family members, friends and many others who knew him grieving the loss of a man remembered for his generosity, loyalty, faith and larger-than-life personality.

According to his published obituary, Bohanon was born May 7, 1980, and spent his life building strong relationships with the people around him. He was described as someone who loved deeply, gave generously and could always be counted on when family or friends needed him. His presence, humor and willingness to help others made him a memorable part of the lives of many people in the Paducah community.

Kent was a 1998 graduate of St. Mary’s High School before attending Murray State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and later a Master of Business Administration. He went on to become the owner of Kent Bohanon State Farm Agency, where he held professional designations including Chartered Financial Consultant and Retirement Income Professional. His professional life was closely connected to his desire to serve and build relationships with others.

Outside of his career, Bohanon was known for his commitment to family, faith and community. He was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and was involved in activities including volunteering and coaching youth soccer and basketball through Upward. His obituary also describes a man who enjoyed cooking, entertaining friends and family, listening to music and bringing people together around a table.

Kent’s family was at the center of his life. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Tracy Perkinson Bohanon, and their children, Jayce and Reese Bohanon. He is also survived by his parents, John (Brenda) Bohanon and Carolyn Bohanon, his sister Laura (Todd) Duff of Paducah, his father- and mother-in-law Greg and Phyllis Perkinson, as well as extended family members and numerous friends.

Despite online references describing Kent Bohanon as having been missing before he was found deceased, the verified obituary and local sources reviewed do not establish those circumstances. Likewise, the published obituary does not disclose a cause or manner of death. For that reason, it would be inappropriate to attribute his death to a particular incident or medical condition without confirmation from his family, authorities or the funeral home.

What is clear is that Bohanon’s death has left a significant void among those who knew him. His obituary portrays him as an extraordinarily devoted father and husband, a loyal friend and a person who made life brighter for those around him.

Those who loved Kent are now left wishing for more of the ordinary moments that once seemed routine — another conversation, another meal together, another game, another song or another laugh. His family and friends will instead carry those memories forward as they grieve.

A memorial service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Heartland Church, with Dr. Scott Thomas officiating. Visitation will take place from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. that same day at the church.

As Paducah remembers Kent Bohanon, those closest to him are mourning not simply the loss of a local businessman or community member, but the loss of a husband, father, son, brother and friend whose relationships were at the heart of his life.

Kent Bohanon was deeply loved, and his family and friends will continue to carry his memory through the stories, laughter and experiences they shared with him. His legacy will live on in the people he helped, the friendships he nurtured and, most importantly, the family he loved so deeply.
