A search is underway for 40-year-old James “Jimmy” Hammond, a Cobb County father of two who was reported missing after he was last seen in the Morganton area of Fannin County, Georgia, according to local officials and news reports.
Hammond was last seen on August 29, 2026, and authorities were asking the public for help locating him after he had been missing for more than 24 hours. The Fannin County Emergency Management Agency identified him as the missing man and said he was last seen in the Morganton area.
Authorities describe Hammond as approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 195 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time he was last seen, he was reportedly wearing a black T-shirt and khaki shorts.
Information circulating online has also pointed to the Morganton and Blue Ridge area, with some posts saying Hammond was seen walking near Georgia Highway 60 before heading south. However, those additional details should be treated cautiously unless confirmed by law enforcement.
