Zeshaan Shaukat, 34, has died after being fatally stabbed outside his family home in Hodge Hill, Birmingham, leaving relatives, friends and members of the wider community devastated by his sudden death.
Shaukat was attacked on Ashville Avenue at around 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. He was taken to hospital following the attack but sadly died three days later, on Friday, August 28. West Midlands Police has since launched a murder investigation into his death.
In a heartbreaking tribute released through police, Shaukat’s family described him as a much-loved son and brother whose presence was central to their lives. They said he was “incredibly loved by the whole community” and that his death had left the family with a void that could never be filled.
The family said Shaukat was murdered outside the family home, a place where they believed he and his relatives should have felt safe. They described the pain and devastation caused by his sudden death as impossible to put into words, adding that his personality, presence and the memories they shared with him would remain with them forever.

West Midlands Police said seven people have been arrested in connection with the investigation. Two suspects remain in custody on suspicion of murder, while a third person is being held on suspicion of assisting an offender. Four other people have been released on bail as enquiries continue.
Detective Jenny Birch, who is overseeing the investigation, said detectives had made good progress since the attack but continued to appeal for information. Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed what happened or who may have relevant footage from the area around the time of the attack.
