Jessica Truth Palmer-Mace, a beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, has died at the age of 45, leaving behind a grieving family and many friends who will remember her for her caring nature, resilience, free spirit and love for the people around her.
Jessica was born March 20, 1981, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Rickey Palmer and Joan Montgomery. She grew up in South Sioux City and went on to work a variety of jobs throughout her life. Her family remembered her as someone with many interests and talents, including cooking, writing and listening to music. Above all, she cherished her children and the relationships she built with the people she met.

She is also survived by her mother, Joan Montgomery; brothers Rick Palmer and Rob Palmer; Dennis Statler; sisters-in-law Stephanie Orozco and Leanne McGraw; brother-in-law Leo Mace; and numerous friends and extended family members.
Jessica was preceded in death by her father, Rick Palmer; her grandparents Carl E. and Truth R. Vassar Palmer and Roland “Bud” and Helen Montgomery; her niece Ariella Mae Jung; and her best friend, Mark Mann.
Her family and friends are now left with memories of a woman who loved deeply and brought her own unique personality to the lives of those around her. For her children and other loved ones, her passing represents an enormous loss, but the memories she created throughout her 45 years will remain part of the family’s story.
A visitation was scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, August 6, at Waterbury Funeral Home on Orleans Avenue in Sioux City, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. The arrangements provided an opportunity for relatives, friends and members of the community to come together and pay their respects.
Jessica Palmer-Mace’s life will be remembered through the family she loved, the friendships she formed and the many people who were touched by her presence.
