Carmela Beltrano, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on August 28, 2026, at Grace Villa Nursing Home in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She was 91 years old. Her death followed complications from a previous stroke, bringing to a close a life defined by devotion to family, generosity, resilience and an enduring love for those around her.
Born on December 16, 1934, in Belsito, Calabria, Italy, Carmela carried with her throughout her life the traditions and values of her Italian heritage. After building her life in Canada, she became the heart of a large and close-knit family, creating memories and traditions that will continue through the generations.
Carmela was the devoted wife of her beloved husband, Mario Beltrano, with whom she shared 70 years of marriage. Their long partnership was marked by love, companionship and a deep commitment to their family. She was also a loving mother to her son, Frank L. Beltrano, and her daughter, Emma Marie Raposo, née Beltrano.
Her greatest joy came through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was grandmother to Andrew Beltrano and his spouse, Jessica, and great-grandmother to Adelaide; Matthew Beltrano and his spouse, Nicky, and great-grandchildren Sofia and Mickey; Justin Beltrano; and grandchildren Robert and Mark Raposo.
Family was at the center of Carmela’s life, and she maintained strong relationships with her siblings and extended relatives throughout the years. She was remembered as a supportive sister and a woman who valued the bonds of family, offering care, encouragement and affection to those around her.
Those who knew Carmela will remember her not simply for the roles she held within her family, but for the warmth and selflessness she brought to them. She was known as a loving, thoughtful and generous woman whose quiet strength helped shape the lives of the people closest to her.

Visitation was scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Friscolanti Funeral Home, 43 Barton St. E., Hamilton, Ontario. A Funeral Mass was scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Annunciation of Our Lord Church, 280 Limeridge Rd. W., Hamilton.
