Accident on the M25 : 18-Year-Old Man Dies After Serious Collision Between Junctions 10 and 11

An 18-year-old man has died following a serious collision on the M25 in Surrey, prompting an overnight closure of the motorway and a police appeal for witnesses.

Surrey Police said officers were called to the anticlockwise carriageway between Junction 10 at Wisley and Junction 11 at Chertsey shortly before 11:50 p.m. on Monday, August 31, after reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and multiple vehicles. The 18-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The circumstances leading to the fatal collision remain under investigation. Police have not announced any arrests and are working to establish how the young man came to be on the motorway and what happened in the moments before he was struck.

Both carriageways of the M25 between Junction 10 and Junction 11 were closed overnight while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene. The A245 Parvis Road was also closed in both directions. The roads have since reopened, although the incident caused significant disruption for motorists during the morning commute.

National Highways warned motorists that the closure could cause substantial delays, particularly for people travelling toward Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Drivers were advised to avoid the affected section where possible and allow additional time for their journeys.

Police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have captured relevant footage on a dashboard camera, CCTV system or helmet camera to come forward. Investigators said even footage that may initially appear insignificant could help them reconstruct the events surrounding the crash.

The death has left the victim’s family facing a devastating loss as detectives continue working to determine exactly what happened on the M25. Authorities have not yet released the young man’s identity publicly, and no further details about the vehicles involved have been confirmed.
