The Scottsboro community is mourning the death of Summer Lemaster, 13, who passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, leaving her family, friends and loved ones heartbroken by the loss of a young life gone far too soon.
Summer’s passing has brought profound sadness to those who knew and loved her. Although her life was brief, she leaves behind memories that will remain treasured by her family and friends for years to come.
Summer will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Pamela Lemaster, and father, Brian Miller. She is also survived by her siblings Savannah, Sierra and Logan Lemaster, her half-sister Emma Lemaster, and her step-siblings Zane, J.T., Jessica and Colton Miller.
Her extended family includes her special friend, Baleigh Hambrick, grandparents Keith and Brenda Harrison and Tommy and Michelle Brown, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
For those closest to Summer, the memories created during her 13 years will now become an important source of comfort. Family and friends will remember the moments they shared with her and the role she played in their lives as they navigate the difficult days ahead.

Her funeral service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Scottsboro. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, with Brad Killough officiating.
